Congratulations to Pat Patterson of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1958 Ariel Square Four. There was some stiff competition this month with Greg McBride's very rare 1955 Vincent Black Prince but Pat's bike was the clear favorite.
Pat has owned this bike for 12 years. He bought this bike from the widow of the previous owner. The bike was complete but not running. Pat did the full restoration to the condition it's in today. The bike is completely original.
The 1958 Ariel Square Four was the last motorcycle that the Ariel company produced. Although some Square Fours were sold in 1959, they were 1958 models. This bike was one of the last 125 built.
Along with the Ariel, Pat also owns a 1974 Norton Mark IIA and a 1978 Triumph T140 Bonneville. Maybe next month he'll ride one of those.
