July Vintage Bike OC Meet
Harley Davidson

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The heat was on today in Huntington Beach and it kept some people home. We still had a great meet with many new people and new bikes. There were 41 bikes at 2:00 and we ended up with 76 in total.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists
Kitty Brooks, So Cal Marketing Rep for Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys spent her Sunday afternoon with us promoting their BAM program. Learn more about it at: www.RussBrown.com

The voting was very close today and the outcome would have been a lot different if a couple of people wouldn't have left early. As always, you must be present to win. I think people were trying to beat the heat.

Bike of the Month
Rich Hutchins of La Mirada with his 1930 Harley Davidson VL
Congratulations to Rich Hutchins of La Mirada for winning Bike of the Month with his 1930 Harley Davidson VL. Rich won the Bike of the Month trophy provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com. This Harley has been in Rich's family since 1939 when his Grandfather, Dick Hutchens bought used for $150.00.

Second Place
Tom Stowers with his 1958 BSA A10
Tom Stowers came in Second with his 1958 BSA A10. I didn't get a chance to talk to Tom enough to get the details, who appearently is the 2013 Trials National Champion on his 1948 Goldstar.

He showed up with three pristine BSA motorcycles, a 1948 BSA Goldstar ZB32, a 1956 BSA Clubman DB52 and his 1958 BSA A10. He recieved votes for all three and had he only brought one, he would have easily won Bike of the Month.

Third Place
Scott Daniels of Tustin with his 1948 Cushman
Scott Daniels of Tustin took Third place with his 1948 Cushman. Scott came to the meet a couple of months back with matching Honda Cubs that he had bought for his wife and him to ride. After a rather cool response from his wife, he traded them for a couple of Cushman's and this is one of them.

The second and third place winners were awarded EuroPapi t-shirts provided by Roland Ortiz of EuroPapi Motorcycle Streetwear, www.europapiusa.com.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event and a special thanks to the volunteer team, Brian Tinkler, Dave Zamiska, Bill McClennen and Chris. I'll see you next month on August 12, 2018.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
