Bill Harris and his 1917 Indian
Country of Origin: USA

Owner: Bill Harris, Huntington Beach, CA
Congratulations to Bill Harris for winning Bike of the Month with his 1917 Indian Power Plus.
Bill brought this bike once before, but it was on a trailer for a household move. This month he rode it to the meet. Bill has owned the bike for eight years. The restoration was completed about twelve years ago.
Back in August, Scott DuPron won Bike of the Month with his 1919 Indian Powerplus. This one is the exact same model fully restored.
The Powerplus was developed as a military bike with a strong motor and sidecar mounts designed into the frame. This particular bike has always been a civilian model. The Powerplus was built from 1916 through 1924 and evolved into the Chief model.
Take a better look at this piece of history in our November Gallery. Thank you Bill for bringing it to the meet.
