Once in a while you see something you've never seen before. Today that happened for most of us at the meet.
Congratulations to Nick DiBenedetto of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1964 Twin Engine Triumph Bonneville.
This was Nick's first time to our meet.
Nick first built the twin engine monster in 1972 while he was in college. It was featured in several motorcycle magazines in the 1970's including Cycle World.
He originally mated the two cases together using a chain drive.
20 years later in the 1990's Nick along with Paul Guzmann of Acme Garage in Orange, built a new twin case. With newer machining technology they were able to change the primary drive system from
chain drive to gear drive. At that time they added Performance Machine brakes and a hydraulic clutch.
The cases were from 1967 and the engines originally 650cc are now bored out to 750cc.
20 years later 2014, Nick and Paul pull the bike out of storage get it running and bring it to our meet.
Thanks Nick for bringing such a unique bike to our meet. See all the photos in our September Gallery.
