VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Perfect weather again in HB for our meet, and over 80 bikes showed up for the sunshine. 28 motorcycles were officially entered in the Bike of the Month contest and 6 of them drew the majority of the votes.

After last month's Monkey win, we were almost over-run with mini-bikes and Cushman's. Which is, okay because this month another mini-bike took top honors.

Grant Lappe of Huntington Beach narrowly won Bike of the Month with his totally custom Honda Trail 70, ST90, CL175. The Thing looks factory built, but Honda never produced a little screamer like this. Grant was awarded the $20.00 Beach Burgers Gift Certificate provided by our sponsors Beach Burgers and The Scooter Solution of Fountain Valley.

Close behind Grant in Second Place was Eric Biley of Norwalk with his 100% original un-restored 1954 Royal Enfield 150cc Ensign. This is the first English built Royal Enfield that we've had at our meet.

Third spot again went to Dave Zamaska of Huntington Beach with his 1954 BSA A7-500. This beautifully restored BSA is always a show stopper, but fell just short of winning.

Normally I don't count past three places but the Indian Chief, the 1930 Harley Davidson and the 1942 Cushman all were in the running for the prize. I didn't get a chance to interview the owner's maybe next month I will.

Once again I had a great team helping with the event. Thank you Debbie & Tom Hopkins helping with voting and counting and Brian TINK Tinkler for shooting many great photos.
