Frank purchased this bike from a collector in Washington State in 2000 who had bought the bike in England while attending the race at the Isle of Man. The bike had been restored, but Frank has done a lot of work on it himself, including having new transmission gears custom manufactured, and fabricating several parts himself.
When Frank got the bike, second gear was shot. A previous owner had fabricated a shift gate that was out of spec. After having new gears made, Frank fabricated the shift gate to correctly engage 2nd gear. The bike runs well, but hasn't been riden regularly in the last few years. She's no trailer queen, Frank assured me that with a little gas in the tank, she'd start with one kick.
Frank brought it to the meet in his truck, even though he didn't ride over, we appreciate seeing such a fine example of history. Thanks Frank! |
