Congratulations to Ernesto Quiroga of Long Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1993 Moto Guzzi 1000S.
Ernesto won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Ernesto has owned this nearly 100% original bike for three months. He purchased it from the owner in New York City with 2000 miles on the clock.
Since then he's nearly doubled the odometer with another 1900 miles.
Aside from aftermarket mirrors and turn signals, and new tires the bike is as it came from the factory.
The 1000S came with a unique integrated brake system. One of the front calipers is controlled by the brake lever,
and the other front caliper and rear brake is controlled together by the foot pedal.
The V-Twin 1000cc engine has two valves per cylinder and is carbureted. Power to the wheel is shaft drive and
Ernesto says the bike is a dream to ride on the freeways of LA.
Ernesto has won Bike of the Month six times since November 2007. He won at the forth meet
that I ran. Nearly every time Ernesto shows up, he brings a winner.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again.
Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for
