Congratulations to Nick Ounanian of Fontana for winning Bike of the Month with his 1978 Yamaha XS-11.
Nick won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Today was Nick's first time to our meet, but he did himself a disservice by bringing three pristine bikes. Two of them gained
all the attention, this Martini Racing tribute, and his 1970 Indian Mini Mini which took second place.
Nick is a retired Plant Manager for a manufacturing facility, he's been around machines all of his life. He started restoring
motorcycles after he retired.
Both of his XS-11's have been restored to a tee. This one in the Martini racing livery and his 1979 as fully stock.
The XS-11 was the first inline four cylinder bike for Yamaha when it came out in 1978. It was also the first 1100cc
motorcycle to come out of the Japanese motorcycle industry.
Nick fully restored this bike over a nine month period.
