October Vintage Bike OC Meet

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was great October afternoon today and we had a good turnout for the meet. 33 bikes were in the lot at 2:00 and by the end we had a total of 60. We're still not back to pre-pandemic levels, but we had a lot of fun.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists
The second Sunday came too quickly for Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys no one was available today to promote their BAM program. Learn more about it at: www.RussBrown.com

A shout-out to Randy Ressell for saving a vintage Kawasaki KZ650 poster (shown at left) from the dumpster for me. It's a little weathered being almost 50 years old, but it now has a place of honor in my garage.

Bike of the Month - Dale Samford

Congratulations to Dale Samford of Midway City for winning Bike of the Month with his Briggs & Stratton Motorbike.

Dale won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com.

Dale has been building custom motorbikes for years. He just completed this one out of mostly 1970's era parts. This is the first custom built bike that has won our contest.

Second Place - Dave Panella

Dave Panella of Costa Mesa took Second place with his 1986 Suzuki RG500T.

This is Dave's second time to our meet, he brought the bike last month in the back of his truck. He has owned his Suzuki since 1988, and had the engine rebuilt eight years ago. Two years ago during the pandemic, he started the restoration process and he recently finished it.

Third Place - Wayne Barretto

Wayne Barretto of Garden Grove won Third place with his 1983 Honda FT500 Ascot.

A first timer to our meet, Wayne has only owned the Ascot for about a month. He owned a 1982 back when they were new, and started looking for one again. He found this one up in Northern California on Facebook Marketplace. He completely went through it and is getting it dialed in.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. A special thanks to John Zindler for helping out with the voting. I'll see you at next month's meet, November 13, 2022.

Keep On Ridin',
