JD Tone with his Indian Sport Scout Make: Indian Model: Sport Scout Country of Origin: USA Engine: 45 cu in Twin Year: 1939 Owner: J. D. Tone, Fountain Valley		1939 Indian Sport Scout Congratulations to J. D. Tone of Fountain Valley for winning Bike of the Month with his 1939 Indian Sport Scout. This bike has been in his family for 65 years. His Dad bought it in 1943 and J. D. inherited it when he passed away in 1963. The restoration began in 1996 by John Bevins of Stanton and was completed in 1999. It is 100% stock, all Indian parts with one upgrade of Bonneville cams. This was J. D.'s first time to the vintage meet and the Indian is no trailer-queen. J. D. rides her often and even long distances. This Scout was definitely the crowd favorite today, it took the BotM with with 78% of the votes. Thanks again J. D. for bring her down for all of us to enjoy.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
