August Vintage Bike OC Meet
Land Speed Record motorcycle

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Again another So Cal perfect afternoon, maybe a little on the warm side. We had an awesome meet with 25 bikes in the competition and 60 bikes overall. Six bikes took the majority of the votes.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists
All of So Cal Marketing Representatives for Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys were busy with Sturgis Bike Week. No one was available today to promote their BAM program. Learn more about it at: www.RussBrown.com

So many unique bikes to look at, and such a wide variety to vote on. Kawasaki was well represented today with many KZs. Collin of Michael's Cycles in Huntington Beach was there with two, on 1977 KZ 1000 with the VIN #2 made in the USA Nebraska factory. It showed me what mine could look like. Patrick Beale brought his KZ1300 which turned some heads too.

Darin Smith of DWS Classics in Huntington Beach brought three awesome Suzuki's today. Darin always shows up with a nice Suzuki.

Luke just returned from Bonneville International Speed Week where he made a World Record run on this Honda. 55.677 MPH on a 90cc Supercharged Single.

Congratulations to John Flores of La Mirada for winning Second place with his 1972 Norton Commando 750. John also took second place back in April with this awesome Norton.

This Norton started life as an Interstate. John has owned it for seven years and over a year long restoration turned it into a Commando. It has an Evan Wilcox hand formed tank and side covers.

Third Place - Brian Tinkler

Congratulations to Brian Tinkler of Westminster for winning Third Place with his 1971 Honda CB750.

Brian recently bought this "Bucket List" bike and has been working on it to bring it to perfection. Last month he took Second place, the competition was stiffer today. Brian is no stranger to our group for years he has helped with running meets and photographing the bikes. He is a retired Honda of America employee and spends many hours as a Master mechanic at Triumph Classic Motorcycles in Costa Mesa.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. Thanks to Sarah Upton for helping with the voting this month.

Next month's meet is, September 14, 2025. I'll see you all there.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
