Huntington Beach, Calif. - Feels like 100° It was a hot one today, but 27 people showed up to brave the heat. Due to the self-imposed heat advisory, I called for the vote early and we were done by 3:30.

We only had around eight bikes in the running for Bike of the Month and when Chet and Bob Primmer rolled out their 1938 Zundapp K800 I had a hunch that we had a ringer.

Bike of the Month - Bob Primmer

Congratulations to Bob Primmer of Corona del Mar for winning Bike of the Month with his 1938 Zundapp K800. His son Chet rode the bike up from Corona del Mar but unfortunately ran out of gas on the way.

This is the first time Bob has brought the Zundapp to our meet. Last month Bob won Bike of the Month with his 1941 BMW R12. In July, Bob placed second with his 1972 Kawasaki H2 750.

Second Place - Pat Beale

Congratulations to Pat Beale for taking Second Place with his 1980 Kawasaki KZ1300. Pat has owned the KZ for a year and a half. It started out as a barn find in Porterville.

Third Place - Rus Truex

Congratulations to Rus Truex of Huntington Beach for winning Third Place with his 1982 Honda MB5.

Russ has owned the MB5 for three years. It has all original paint, Russ cleaned it up. The 50cc single has a red line of 10,500 RPM and a top speed of 52. Let's hope Russ keeps that power under control.
