February Vintage Bike OC Meet
Barber Motorsports

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was a perfect February afternoon today. We were all finally over the rain, but we had to compete with the Super Bowl. Many people came early and by 2:00 we had 33 bikes in the lot. The votes were tallied around 3:00 and our official count was 43 bikes.

We had nice competition for Bike of the Month and three bikes clearly came out on top.

Bike of the Month - Angelo Tafarella

Congratulations to Angelo Tafarella of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1984 Yamaha RZ 485 Custom.

Angelo won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com.

He often brings something unique to the meet, often something with 4 wheels. Like his Craftsman riding mower with a KZ1000 engine. He's taken Third Place twice with his 1976 Rokon Ranger and Second with his 1969 Kawasaki H1 500.

Angelo won Bike of the Month back in October 2009 with his 1935 Triumph T80

Second Place - Clive Brookes

Clive is very active in the BSA community he was the Editor for the BSA Owner's club for about five years.

His 1961 is a 650cc twin Pre Unit model which he's owned for 25 years. When he bought it, it was a chopper and he slowly brought it back to stock condition.

Third Place - Pat Beale
Pat Beale of Huntington Beach 1976 Kawasaki KZ900
Pat Beale of Huntington Beach with his 1976 Kawasaki KZ900.

Pat has owned the KZ for 11 months, it was a barn find that had been parked for 8 years. With only 11,000 miles on the clock, it's a nice find. He believes that the custom paint on the bike was done in the 1970's when it was nearly new.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. A special thanks to John Zindler for helping out with the voting.

I'll see you at next month's meet, March 10, 2024.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
