Huntington Beach, Calif. - Apparently there was some sort of football happening today, and a little bit of heat and humidity. We had a small by mighty meet, 33 bikes at 2:00 with a grand total of 55. At least a dozen first time bikes today.

The Bike of the Month contest almost turned into the Family Feud with Perry and Cory Edwards, father and son fighting for the prize. But Victor Castellanos was there to take votes away from both of them.

Bike of the Month - Perry Edwards

Congratulations to Perry Edwards of Garden Grove for winning Bike of the Month with his 1966 Honda S90.

Perry is known amongst Honda people as the Honda guy. He is behind many fine Honda's in the Orange County area.

This is the second time he has won Bike of the Month. He won back in April 2008 with his 1974 Honda CB-750

Second Place - Cory Edwards

Cory Edwards of Garden Grove took Second place with his 1974 Honda CB-750.

Cory has been around Honda motorcycles his entire life. He bought his CB-750 back in 2015, and with a little help from his father finished the ground up restoration after 3 years.

A 1974 CB-750 in Silver?
Being a fellow CB-750 owner, when I saw the Silver paint, I took a double-take. My 1973 is brown, and his father's 1974 is orange. They only came in a few colors and I'd never seen a silver one. Cory wanted something different. They found out from a friend in Germany that this Silver paint scheme was available in Germany and never brought to the United States. It works for me, it looks awesome.

Cory has probably placed in the past with his restored CB550 Sport which he sold prior to buying this 750. His CB-750 is worthy of Bike of the Month, he just brought stiff competition.

Third Place - Victor Castellanos

Victor Castellanos of Norwalk took Third with his 1979 Kawasaki KZ1300. Victor is the second owner of this Kawasaki monster bike. The water cooled 6 cylinder is almost 100% original.

Victor bought the bike 6 months ago, it had been garaged since 1996. It took a lot of work to get it back into fully operational condition. Again another bike worthy of winning, only the steep competition beat him out.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. A special thanks to John Zindler for helping out with the voting.

I'll see you all next month on October 8, 2023.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
