VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - We had an awesome afternoon in HB today we had a great meet with a lot of new bikes to look at. There were 35 bikes at 2:00 and by the time the official count was in we had 67. Eight bikes got significant votes and the contest was tight.

Ride for the Cause - Hogs & Dogs Charity Ride
This Saturday, July 15 there is a charity ride from Huntington Beach Harley Davidson to Cook's Corner as a fundraiser for Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue. pawprintsinthesand.org/events

Bike of the Month - Doug Rickertsen

Doug Rickertsen of Huntington Beach with his 1974 Honda XR75

Congratulations to Doug Rickertsen of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1974 Honda XR75.

He just recently finished the seven month restoration on this Honda that he's owned for 30 years. He taught all three of his kids to ride on this bike, plus all the neighborhood kids.

This is the forth time he has won Bike of the Month.

April 2021 - 1971 Honda SL125

Second Place - Baird Bergenthal

Baird Bergenthal of Midway City took Second place with his 1965 Garelli 98 Fan Trail.

Baird has owned the Garelli for four months had did a complete restoration on it. The Italian bike has a 98cc single engine with fan induction cooling and a 4 speed transmission.

Baird has won Bike of the Month at four other meets.

Third Place - Ernesto Quiroga

Ernesto Quiroga of Long Beach with his 1986 Honda VF1000R

Ernesto always brings a winner, and this month was no different. He has owned the VF1000R for two months after purchasing it from a museum in Wisconson with 34 original miles on it. After going through it and putting on new tires he's added 400 miles to the clock.

Ernesto has won Bike of the Month at six other meets.
