Huntington Beach, Calif. -
A perfect summer afternoon in HB today we had quality over quantity.
I don't know where everyone was, maybe family vacations but we had
a lot of first time bikes here today including all three winners.
By the end of the day the official count was 44.
Special Thanks to Brian "Tink" Tinkler
Last month I honored four people who had helped me over the past
17 years running the meet. Unfortunately I had a serious oversight when
I forgot to honor Brian "Tink" Tinkler.
For more than 15 years Brian has helped with the meet. For many years he
hauled the equipment needed in his truck so that I could ride my motorcycle.
As a talented photographer, he has freely shot hundreds of photos for our
website and put up with my tight demands of immediate turn-around.
He has also run the meet on several occasions when I was unable to for other obligations.
Thank you Brian for all the years of dedication and service to our group.

We had many cool bikes this month be three were absolute stand-outs and garnered most of
the votes.
Bike of the Month - Bob Barnett
Bob Barnett of Costa Mesa with his 1947 Indian Chief
Congratulations to Bob Barnett of Costa Mesa for winning Bike of the Month
with his 1947 Indian Chief.
Bob won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
www.RussBrown.com.
This is the first time Bob has brought the Chief to our meet. It's been in his family
since it was new, and has a great story behind it.
Indian Startup and ride away.
Read all about Bob's
1947 Indian Chief on our Bike of the Month page.
Second Place - Bob Primmer
Bob Primmer of Corona Del Mar with his 1972 Kawasaki H2 750.
Congratulations to Bob Primmer for taking Second Place with his H2.
This is the first time Bob has brought the Kawasaki to our meet.
He has owned it for about one year, and his son Chet rode it up from Corona Del Mar.
Third Place - Craig Gray
Craig Gray of Bellflower with his 1973 Honda CB450.
Congratulations to Craig Gray of Bellflower for winning Third Place with
his CBA450.
Craig has owned the bike for 15 years, as the third owner he bought it
from Dave Zeller. The original owner of the 450 was Jon Seidell who
worked for American Honda at the time and brought the bike into California
from Ohio. Jon is also an active member of our group.
Eugene always comes down from Hollywood when he gets something new
to share. He's a nine time Bike of the Month winner.
Today was no exception, he brought a "real" show bike. His 1993
Moto Guzzi was a concept show bike for the production of the fairing.
This wasn't obvious to most of us to really understand the rarity of
his bike and it's one of a kind stature.
Hopefully Eugene will bring it back for a second chance.
Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event.
A special thanks to John Zindler for helping out with the voting.
I'll see you at next month's meet, August 11, 2024.
